Sami Zayn pushes for major WWE event in surprising location
WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn is best known for his heart-on-sleeve persona. This approach led him to gain a huge fan following, resulting in him headlining multiple premium live events, and recently, ending Gunther's run as the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion at WrestleMania XL.
Zayn is skeptical these days about whether he will ever become a world champion under Triple H's creative control. Nevertheless, The Underdog from the Underground is a favorite of the masses. He is convinced that WWE should host a premium live event in Chile, South America.
Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp spoke with Zayn recently and discussed various topics. The Canadian star revealed that there has been pure joy among the audiences at the PLE shows over the last couple of years. Sami said that he's pushed to go to Chile's capital, Santiago because their audience is one of the most real. He also added that he hopes to make it possible somehow to wrestle in Antarctica.
Perhaps Zayn's biggest fanbase is evidently in Canada and Saudi Arabia. Whether he finally wins a world title in the sports entertainment giant, possibly in one of these two countries, bears watching.
Sami Zayn vs. Chad Gable at WWE Clash at the Castle
Chad Gable was hugely favored by the WWE Universe to dethrone Gunther at WrestleMania XL after Brock Lesnar was pulled from the show. There were heavy rumors which were all but outright confirmed by The Ring General himself. However, that particular feather on the cap went to Sami Zayn.
Despite this, Zayn was cheered on. Master Gable ultimately turned on Sami post The Show of Shows and the two men have been at odds ever since. Finally, this Saturday, they will get to settle their differences and wrestle for the Intercontinental Championship.
In the end, it is all about the second oldest belt in WWE, which Chad Gable is yet to win. The Alpha Academy leader has never won a belt in the singles division. Needless to say, Gable is still respected by many even though they may hate his guts, especially of late as he has consistently bickered, put down, and manipulated his faction.
In a few days time, we will find out if Glasgow, Scotland, is where Chad Gable finally becomes Intercontinental Champion, or if one of his stablemates (hello, Otis!) decides to stand up to him for weeks of torment.
