Second-generation WWE star claims to have a history with John Cena; wants a match during the retirement tour

John Cena is set to return to WWE for a final run, and Netflix will be the first place he'll show up in, in 2025. Meanwhile, Dominik Mysterio talked about The Leader of Cenation and claimed they have a history.

Many WWE Superstars have fired shots or expressed their interest in facing John Cena when he returns to the Stamford-based promotion for a final full-time run in 2025.

In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, the second-generation WWE star stated he has a history with The Leader of Cenation and would like to face him when the 16-time World Champion returns in 2025.

"But I would love to get my hands on Cena again. Yeah, I have some history there that I'd like to touch back with," Dominik said. [H/T: CVV]

Dominik Mysterio and John Cena have crossed paths in WWE

In 2021, John Cena made a shocking return to the Stamford-based promotion and confronted Roman Reigns. Later, the veteran joined Friday Night SmackDown and feuded with The Bloodline.

The Leader of Cenation was outnumbered, as The Usos played a key role in assisting Roman Reigns. It was during this time that Rey and Dominik Mysterio aligned with the 16-time World Champion.

The Mysterios were also in a feud with The Bloodline as they lost their SmackDown Tag Team Championship to The Usos. The two were involved in several six-man tag team matches in the coming weeks.

Last year, John Cena returned to the company for a short stint on Friday Night SmackDown. In September 2023, Cena won in a singles match against Mysterio after SmackDown ended.

Earlier this year, John Cena was once again in Dominik Mysterio's path when he decided to team up with The Awesome Truth to defeat The Judgment Day on RAW after WrestleMania XL.
