"See you again" - Asuka posts picture with emotional message after announcing WWE hiatus

Former women's champion Asuka has sent an emotional message after announcing that she will be taking a hiatus from WWE. She posted a picture with two other stars.

The WWE RAW star is currently set to take a break from the company so that she can heal up and return when she's in better condition. She had been carrying a knee injury for several weeks but still competed at Backlash in France. The star has been facing troubles in moving but was glad for her Damage CTRL teammates, and thanked Kairi Sane and Dakota Kai for helping her through it.

She said that she was taking time off and has now re-iterated it by posting a picture of herself, Sane, and Shinsuke Nakamura, saying "See you again."

When Asuka was injured in WWE

Asuka seemingly hurt herself during a match where she was not participating, but was at ringside for. She was spotted limping heavily during the proceedings. Bayley was facing Dakota Kai in a match on SmackDown back in March and things went wrong during the bout.

Asuka was jumping around at ringside and then went off-screen with Kairi Sane and IYO SKY looking on with concern off-camera. Things were uncertain at the time, but the reason for their concern became clear later when Asuka was spotted limping. She tried to enter the ring and while she did so, she was clearly uncomfortable. When she fell, she was spotted clutching her knee as well.

Overall, the star was left hurt and unable to compete. She remained inactive for a few weeks but eventually returned to the ring, which led to fans thinking that the injury was not too serious.

However, with the announcement that she is now taking a break from the company to recover and will return later, it turns out that the star might have been hurt worse than at first imagined.

At this time, there's no certainty about when she will finally return to the ring.

We at Sportskeeda wish the Empress of Tomorrow a quick recovery.
