Seth Rollins seemingly shares potential SummerSlam tease

Former WWE Champion Seth Rollins is all set to be a part of a highly anticipated match at SummerSlam. He recently shared an update on social media, hinting at a potential tease for the upcoming premium live event.

On the July 22 edition of Monday Night RAW, the 38-year-old was announced as the special guest referee for the singles contest between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk scheduled to take place at The Biggest Party of the Summer. Rollins has had his share of issues with both Punk and McIntyre.

The Visionary recently took to Instagram Stories to share his own edited image posted by a user on the social media platform with Shawn Michaels' iconic entrance music. The image depicts Rollins as The Heartbreak Kid, who was the special guest referee for a title match between Bret Hart and The Undertaker at SummerSlam 1997. Michaels was given the role despite his rivalry with The Hitman.

The former DX member, however, played a crucial role in deciding the outcome of the title match as he accidentally helped Bret Hart secure the win. With this social media update, Seth Rollins has seemingly teased that he may as well play an important role come next Saturday.

Veteran shares honest take on Seth Rollins' addition to WWE Summerslam as a special guest referee

Seth Rollins' addition to the match has received mixed reviews from fans. Veteran journalist Bill Apter recently shared his honest take on the announcement.

Speaking on a recent edition of Sportskeeda's UnSKripted, Bill Apter expressed his dislike of Rollins being involved as the special guest referee. The 78-year-old stated that it has made the match highly predictable as he believes the former World Heavyweight Champion is likely to help McIntyre win the bout to fuel his rivalry with The Best in the World.

"Is the addition of Seth Rollins too damn predictable? That there is gonna be something, there's gonna be a rough bump, somebody is gonna turn against somebody. Seth Rollins is going to probably have Punk lose, so he can pick up his feud and hatred of CM Punk, and they can go there, and Drew can move on to the winner of the Priest and Gunther match, maybe," the veteran said. After several months of build, Drew McIntyre and CM Punk will finally enter the squared circle to settle the score. However, it might be the former Shield member who eventually decides the outcome of the match.
