Shane McMahon & Vince McMahon invading AEW with a new faction is a real possibility, says WWE legend
Shane McMahon created quite a buzz after being spotted in a picture with Tony Khan. A WWE legend has now reacted to it and said what could happen.
Lex Luger has given his take on the situation. For those unaware, Shane McMahon was recently spotted in a picture with Tony Khan that has since taken the internet by storm. Fans have been speculating about the role the two were discussing for Vince McMahon's son in the company. This came about after there were rumors earlier that Shane might be heading to AEW at some point. The two had apparently not spoken at the time, but that's no longer true.
Speaking on Busted Open, Luger shared his thoughts on it. He said he could see Shane and Vince McMahon heading to AEW and leading an "invasion" of the promotion in a storyline. The legend said it would be like Shane bringing a faction with him.
"What if Shane's just the tip of the spear, and they do an invasion of AEW with Shane, and then Vince comes into the picture? So Shane sort of brings a faction with him. Oh my gosh, could you imagine?" Luger noted. (24:22 - 24:43)
He said it was possible because nothing could be ruled out in the wrestling business. Luger added that it could be compared to the NWO invasion in WCW.
Shane McMahon and Vince McMahon are not involved in WWE at this time
Vince McMahon is no longer heavily involved in WWE. After the scandal involving Janel Grant's lawsuit, he stepped down from the board and sold large portions of his shares in TKO.
Shane McMahon was last involved in WWE at last year's WrestleMania. Despite his appearance being a big deal, it ended badly, with the star injuring himself and needing to be helped out of the ring. He's not made appearances in the company since then.
