The event featured the annual Iron Survivor Challenge matches. In the men’s match, Oba Femi made a shocking return and secured the victory. On the women’s side, the match came down to the final moments as Stephanie Vaquer attempted to pin her friend Giulia. However, The Beautiful Madness managed to hold on to clinch the win.
With her victory, Giulia has become the number one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship, currently held by Roxanne Perez.
Former WWE Champion wants to face Shawn Michaels
Shawn Michaels has transitioned into a backstage role at NXT following his in-ring retirement.
In a recent interview, Kevin Owens revealed that he would love to face The Heartbreak Kid. The former Universal Champion praised Michaels. He stated that HBK could still deliver a stellar performance at this stage of his life.
Owens admitted that he has repeatedly tried to convince HBK to return to the ring. However, Michaels has remained firm in his decision to stay retired.
"But yeah, I'd love to wrestle Shawn Michaels. I'm sure he would still be able to put in a performance like no other. I've no doubt. But he's done with it, you know? He's done. Trust me, I've tried. I would love that too, but I don't know, I think he's really done. I think I'm teetering on the verge of him blocking me," Owens stated. [From 4:42 to 5:44]
