"She was left at the altar" - WWE veteran reflects on a hilarious segment involving Chelsea Green

Chelsea Green became the talk of the town after WWE Saturday Night's Main Event. However, her success didn't come overnight, as she spent years working in the industry. Recently, Dutch Mantell reflected on a hilarious segment with the star in which she was left at the altar.

In 2017, Chelsea Green went by Laurel Van Ness in TNA Wrestling and was Braxton Sutter's onscreen girlfriend. The two had a wedding ceremony segment on television, and Green was left at the altar by Sutter, who confessed his love for Allie, and the couple broke up.

This led Green to a darker path in the coming weeks where she adopted a maniacal gimmick. Speaking on Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the veteran reflected on his past work with the 33-year-old star as he produced and wrote the segment in TNA Wrestling. Moreover, he spoke highly of the inaugural Women's United States Champion.

"I remember I did a wedding with her where she was left at the altar... We did an interview with her at the end of the show, and we came back the next week, and she was still in the same room, still crying. She hadn't recovered from it. I enjoyed producing it and writing it out, and she did such a great job. I mean that girl's potential hasn't been touched at all," Mantell said. (From 36:34 to 37:17)

Chelsea Green would become one of WWE's biggest babyfaces, says Dutch Mantell

Chelsea Green had one of the best years in the company. Following WWE Money in the Bank 2024, she became a notable name. After writing her name in the history books, the inaugural Women's United States Champion received praise from quite a few people in the industry.

In the same episode, Dutch Mantell spoke highly of the newly crowned champion following WWE Saturday Night's Main Event. The veteran said Green could become one of the biggest babyfaces in the Stamford-based promotion in the coming months.

"I think she's going to be your go-to girl. I think she will probably end up as one of their biggest babyfaces because the people like her, and she has a smile whether you like it or not," Mantell said.

Green's reign as the Women's United States Champion has just begun and it remains to be seen how her run goes.
