Sheamus mocks WWE star following attack on RAW
Sheamus taunted a popular WWE Superstar today on social media after he was attacked this past Monday night on RAW. The Celtic Warrior battled Bronson Reed on RAW, but a former stablemate attacked him from behind.
Pete Dunne, formerly known as Butch in The Brawling Brutes faction, bashed Sheamus over the head with a shillelagh during his match on the red brand. Bronson Reed capitalized on the interference and connected with the Tsunami Splash for the pinfall victory.
The 46-year-old took to social media following the loss to taunt Pete Dunne by referring to him as Butch over and over again.
"I ❤️ Butch after I ❤️ Butch after I ❤️ Butch after I ❤️ Butch after I ❤️ Butch after I ❤️ Butch after I ❤️ Butch after I ❤️ Butch after I ❤️ Butch after I ❤️ Butch after I ❤️ Butch after I ❤️ Butch after I ❤️ Butch after I ❤️ Butch after I ❤️ Butch after I ❤️ Butch," he wrote.
The former champion missed some time due to injury following his match against Edge last August. It was Edge's final match in WWE, as he is now known as Adam Copeland in All Elite Wrestling. After a lengthy hiatus from the company, the veteran made his return earlier this year on the April 15 edition of WWE RAW.
Pete Dunne blames Sheamus for his "Butch" nickname in WWE
RAW star Pete Dunne has blamed Sheamus for giving him the Butch nickname on the main roster.
During Week 1 of NXT's Great American Bash last night, Dunne cut a promo and noted that he turned to the former champion for advice. However, he was given a front row seat to the "Sheamus Show" and blamed the veteran for his terrible nickname.
"The first time in my life that I turned to somebody for advice, I got stuck with a terrible nickname [Butch]. And a front-row seat to the Sheamus Show. You'd be bitter too," he said. [0:20-0:35]
The rivalry between the former Brawling Brutes stablemates appears to be getting personal on RAW. It will be fascinating to see what WWE has planned for the feud in the weeks ahead.
