Sheamus shares rare personal update ahead of WWE SmackDown

WWE veteran Sheamus has shared a rare personal update ahead of tonight's edition of SmackDown. Tonight's episode of the blue brand will be the final show ahead of WWE Money in the Bank tomorrow night.

Sheamus battled Drew McIntyre and Ilja Dragunov in a Money in the Bank Qualifying Triple Threat match this past Monday night but came up short. McIntyre picked up the win and will be competing in the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder match tomorrow night in Toronto.

Ahead of the premium live event, Sheamus took to his Instagram story to share a post with his wife while they were at the Macy's 4th of July fireworks event last night in New York. You can check out his Instagram story by clicking here.

WWE RAW star pays tribute to Sheamus

World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest recently broke character and praised Sheamus for being with WWE for fifteen years.

The promotion released a video earlier this week featuring several stars discussing what it is like to work with the veteran. The Judgment Day member complimented Sheamus and noted that everyone appreciated him backstage. However, Priest then jokingly told the former champion to stay away from him:

"Sheamus, congratulations on your obviously Hall of Fame career. What you have meant to this business, and to people like myself trying to make a name for themselves in it. It is something special that you should be proud of. Mentoring guys, battle-testing guys, and then just going out there and putting it all on the line, and giving your all for the WWE Universe. That is what we can all strive for, let alone all of the accolades you have. So, I just want to say thank you. We all appreciate you, and please stay the hell away from me," said Priest.

Sheamus is not booked for a match at the premium live event tomorrow night as he was unable to qualify for the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder match. It will be interesting to see what the promotion has planned for the 46-year-old moving forward.
