Shelton Benjamin mocks WWE SmackDown star ahead of major match; 35 year old reacts

Former WWE Superstar Shelton Benjamin recently fired shots at a popular SmackDown Superstar ahead of her match scheduled for next week. The name in question is Michin.

The former Retribution member will face Chelsea Green in a Dumpster Match on the October 4 edition of the blue brand's show. She has been feuding with The Hot Mess and Piper Niven for the last few weeks. Earlier this week, she defeated Niven in a singles match.

Three-time WWE Intercontinental Champion Shelton Benjamin took to his X (fka Twitter) account earlier today to mock Michin. He responded to a post shared by the USA Network, pointing out that the former OC member has momentum on her side ahead of her match with Green.

Benjamin jokingly fired shots at the SmackDown star. Michin replied to Shelton Benjamin's X/Twitter post, sharing a GIF and telling him to shut up.

"Isn’t every match @miayim [Michin] is in a Dumpster match?" he wrote.

Shelton Benjamin opens up about his retirement plans

Shelton Benjamin began his professional wrestling career in 2000, signing a contract with the Stamford-based company. He parted ways with WWE in 2010 and competed in several promotions across the globe before returning to the global juggernaut in 2017.

During his recent appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Benjamin pointed out that he had been in the business for a long time. He added that he could compete inside the square circle for the next two to five years, depending on his schedule. The former United States Champion expressed his desire to contribute behind the scenes after retiring from in-ring action.

"I'm pretty sure I could do two [years] easy, five depending on the schedule. But I also don't want to overstay my welcome. I've been doing this a long time. Again, there's going to come a time I have to stop thinking selfishly and look at things like as far as the wrestling business go, where am I bigger benefit, in the ring or behind the scenes? Definitely can still be behind the scenes, but again, this has to be in the right place before I can do that. And that's definitely coming. I will say that's definitely on the horizon. But right now, I still feel like I got a little more I can give," he said. [H/T: CVV]

With Shelton's former stablemate MVP making his AEW debut last week, it remains to be seen if he, too, is headed to the Tony Khan-led promotion.
