Shinsuke Nakamura makes major announcement outside WWE

WWE Superstar Shinsuke Nakamura recently took to social media to make a major announcement outside of the Stamford-based promotion.

Nakamura has cemented his legacy as one of the greatest Japanese wrestlers to ever step inside the squared circle in World Wrestling Entertainment. After enjoying a successful period in the Stamford-based promotion, The King of Strong Style has not been booked properly in recent months.

The former WWE Intercontinental Champion's last televised match came on the April 22, 2024 episode of RAW, where he locked horns with Sheamus. Since then, the 44-year-old has wrestled many matches during live shows but has not been seen on TV.

Shinsuke Nakamura recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to make a huge announcement, revealing that he would be in the corner of another Japanese sensation, Rei Tsuruya, during the latter's UFC debut.

The star wrote the message in Japanese, which translates to:

"Fight the world at #ufc @ufc Please support Rei Tsuruya @mma_rei. Shinsuke Nakamura becomes second for Rei Tsuruya in UFC debut, internet goes crazy with comments like "Yaaaaaw!" and "Seriously?" [ENCOUNT]," he wrote.

A former WWE writer is not a fan of Shinsuke Nakamura's recent booking

During an edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Writing with Russo, former WWE writer Vince Russo said that he could not believe Shinsuke Nakamura's win/loss record in recent months.

Russo also mentioned that it should not be happening to a guy like Nakamura, who has charisma and showmanship.

"Bro, his [Shinsuke Nakamura] record in his last 40 matches is like one and 39. I was reading it; I was like, 'You have got to be freaking kidding me, bro!' Wow, you are telling me, bro... This is one of the rare guys who has charisma. That has got a cool look. That has showmanship!" Russo said.
