Shinsuke Nakamura and Rey Mysterio make special appearances outside WWE

WWE Shinsuke Nakamura and Rey Mysterio are two of the biggest names in pro wrestling. They made a special appearance to represent the company at Power Slap 8.

Rey Mysterio is currently working with LWO to elevate the faction. However, he hasn’t had many big storylines during the year. Meanwhile, Shinsuke Nakamura hasn’t done anything of note in recent months. He has taken multiple losses in big matches that have dented his credibility.

The two stars were recently in the house at Power Slap 8 on June 28. UFC's Michael Chandler and former NFL star Cam Newton also attended.

Paige VanZant, who was previously signed to AEW, made her Power Slap debut at the show. She faced off against Christine Wolmarans.

Fans have been treated to a few WWE and UFC crossovers over the past few months after the two companies merged to form TKO in September 2023.

Shinsuke Nakamura reacted after his appearance with WWE veteran Rey Mysterio at Power Slap 8

Shinsuke Nakamura has been picking up losses to Cody Rhodes and LA Knight at live shows over the past few months. The creative team seems to have no real direction for the 44-year-old who was once marked for greatness in the company.

Nakamura will make another non-WWE appearance outside the company on June 29, cornering Rei Tsuruya at UFC 303. In a post on X, he reacted to his Power Slap 8 appearance with Rey Mysterio.

"Rey and Rei #UFC303 @reymysterio @mma_rei," he wrote about both stars sharing a similar first name.

It will be interesting to see how The Artist’s presence in UFC affects the fight. He has been a great athlete both inside and outside the ring.
