Six-time WWE champion suspended indefinitely following Money in the Bank
WWE Money in the Bank was full of twists and turns as the company hosted yet another successful international premium live event. One of the most shocking moments on the show was CM Punk once again costing Drew McIntyre the World Heavyweight Championship. The fallout from the same saw the Scottish Warrior raise his hands on Adam Pearce, as a result of which the RAW star is now suspended.
Drew McIntyre won the Money in the Bank contract earlier in the night and decided to cash it in during the Seth Rollins vs Damian Priest title match. However, CM Punk once again came out to rain on McIntyre's parade as he attacked the former World Heavyweight Champion with a chair and the title belt.
Frustrated with constantly getting done in by Punk, McIntyre made his presence felt during the post-show discussion which had the panel of Jackie Redmond, Big E, and Wade Barrett. The Scottish Warrior seemed totally unhinged and even hit Adam Pearce who had come out to control him.
The RAW General Manager has now revealed that Drew is suspended indefinitely for his actions after Money in the Bank went off the air.
WWE Universe will have to wait a while to see Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk
Drew McIntyre and CM Punk have been at odds for the better part of this year. The rivalry has reached its culmination point, with both men going to great lengths to exact revenge on each other. And the duo may soon get a chance to settle their business inside the squared circle as the Best in the World appears to be nearing his in-ring return.
Jackie Redmond seemingly provided an update on CM Punk's status after WWE Money in the Bank. The presenter noted that although Punk was not ready for in-ring action yet, he looked close to having fully recovered, going by his actions at the premium live event.
"CM Punk, as of this moment, is not cleared for in-ring action. So, it can't be solved in the ring just yet. He was hesitant in his post-press conference to give us an update on his status. The WWE Universe of course hopes that he is day to day at this point. I mean, he looked all right, hitting Drew with the chair," she said.
With Drew McIntyre suspended and CM Punk still not ready, it will be interesting to see how WWE progresses the storyline between the two superstars. It is speculated that the duo could collide at SummerSlam which is still a month away.
