SmackDown loses major 26-year-old star in the WWE Draft; Nick Aldis visibly upset
SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis was upset and had to be talked to by former SmackDown General Manager Teddy Long as the blue brand lost a major name in the WWE Draft, to RAW's direct benefit.
It was the second round of the WWE Draft, and barring Carmelo Hayes, who had officially been drafted from NXT, there were little to no brand changes.
That was, of course, until it was announced by Torrie Wilson that RAW was drafting Bron Breakker to the red brand. This was a huge move and when the camera cut to backstage, General Manager Nick Aldis' reaction was quite telling.
But as for the overall round two picks, only Breakker and one more star marked a change. The overall round's results were:
Randy Orton - Stays on SmackDown
Bron Breakker - Moves to RAW
Nia Jax - Moves to SmackDown
Liv Morgan - Stays on RAW
Bron Breakker was one of those guys that Nick Aldis went out of his way to sign, successfully getting him on a SmackDown contract. However, despite that signing, Breakker went back to NXT and finished up his time there as NXT Tag Team Champion, and it looks like his move to the main roster is now official.
Also, Bubba Ray Dudley was one of the names on SmackDown talking to Aldis while it was all happening.
Breakker, for his part, appeared on SmackDown and squashed Cedric Alexander in an astonishing 16 seconds.
