SmackDown Star shares unrecognizable throwback pic

Current SmackDown Star Ridge Holland shared a throwback image of himself during the early part of his wrestling career.

Holland had a nine-year career playing rugby in England before training to become a professional wrestler in 2017. When he made his debut that same year, he wore a singlet similar to his attire during his stint in NXT from 2018 to 2021.

The 34-year-old superstar made his NXT debut in July 2018 during a live event before making his first television appearance four months later on NXT UK. He feuded with the Undisputed Era in 2020, turning heel in the process.

Unfortunately, Holland's ankle and knee injuries prevented the story from ending since he had a nine-month recovery period. Less than three months after returning from injury, he was drafted to SmackDown and made his main roster debut on November 5, 2021.

The Brawling Brutes member shared a throwback photo on Twitter today which featured his old singlet. You can check it out below:

Ridge Holland continues to receive death threats a year after accidentally breaking Big E's neck on SmackDown

Big E and Kofi Kingston of The New Day faced Ridge Holland and Sheamus on the March 11, 2022 episode of SmackDown. During the match, Holland hit a belly-to-back suplex on Big E outside the ring.

Shockingly, the former WWE champion landed on his head and suffered a serious neck injury. He's been out of action for more than a year, but did not require surgery and seems to be recovering well. Holland has apologized for what happened, and while Big E has stated that it was a freak accident, some fans continue to harass the Brawling Brutes member.

"Death threats," Holland tweeted. "Threats to my family. Lobbying for me to lose my job. Being labeled as racist. Great stuff. Keep 'em coming."

Xavier Woods has defended Ridge Holland and called on fans not to direct hate towards the 34-year-old. Woods also encouraged them to turn the negative energy to a positive by sending messages to Big E during his recovery.
