Sonya Deville calls 36-year-old WWE star "forgettable," says "half the time you’re on the bench"
WWE Superstar Sonya Deville took a massive shot at a fellow wrestler on X/Twitter about an hour ago. Deville called Dakota Kai "forgettable" in her latest tweet.
Dakota Kai came back to WWE two years ago and made her big return at SummerSlam that year. She appeared alongside Bayley and IYO SKY and the trio called themselves Damage CTRL. Kai has been doing quite well as a mid-card act on WWE TV since then.
During the Survivor Series: WarGames post-show press conference, IYO SKY reminded a journalist that she's a member of Damage CTRL. Dakota Kai responded to the video, stating that the media must've forgotten about her. Sonya Deville chimed in and took a massive shot at Kai in the process.
Here's what she wrote:
"You are pretty forgettable … I mean seeing as half the time you’re on the bench.. 🫢"
Sonya Deville talks about being the first openly gay woman in WWE
Back in 2018, Deville had a chat with Sky Sports. She spoke in detail about being the first-ever openly gay woman star in WWE. Here's what she had to say:
“Wow, I always get asked this question, and I don’t know how to answer it because I’m always like, ‘I guess I’m a role model’ but my goal with talking about sexuality publicly is just that the scared little girl that I was four years ago before I came out on WWE Tough Enough - little girl like that at home, or little boy can see me do it and be like, ‘Wow, well, if she did it, then maybe it’s okay that I do it’, and it’s just to encourage people to be themselves, and that equality for all, is what we should all want. Between race, religion, gender, sexuality, it doesn’t matter. It’s just… We’re all equal and we should treat each other as such and that’s just my message overall.” [H/T - Fightful]
Sonya Deville's last WWE outing was on the November 11, 2024, edition of RAW. That night, Damage CTRL picked up a win over her, Zoey Stark, and Shayna Baszler. It seems Deville isn't happy about the loss on RAW, judging by her jibe at Kai on X/Twitter.
Do you believe Dakota hasn't been handled well by WWE over the past two years?
