"Sorry Hunter" - Current WWE star recalls hating a Triple H moment on TV
WWE Superstar Kevin Owens recently discussed how his title opportunity reminded him of Triple H's reign of terror. The star is set to face Cody Rhodes at Bash in Berlin.
When Rhodes first announced that he wanted to defend the title against KO, The Prizefighter was hesitant. However, he finally accepted the opportunity when Nick Aldis said that he would award the title shot to Roman Reigns if Owens denied.
During a recent sit-down interview with Corey Graves, Kevin Owens said that he didn't like being handed the title opportunity. He mentioned that it reminded him of the time when Eric Bischoff handed Triple H the World Heavyweight Championship. KO revealed that as a fan, he hated watching that moment unfold on TV and he didn't want the current generation of fans to feel the same way about him.
"I just don’t think I deserve it. I have had a very poor win/loss record and I think that stuff matters. I remember Triple H getting handed a title and I hated it. Sorry Hunter. I hated it, I was so upset. I don’t want our audience to feel that way." [From 01:58 to 02:16]

Triple H was instrumental in Kevin Owens' only World Title reign in WWE
Back in 2016, Kevin Owens was handpicked by Hunter to be the new Universal Champion.
After the inaugural champion Finn Balor vacated the title due to an injury he picked up at SummerSlam, there was a Fatal Four Way Match on RAW to determine the new Universal Champion. The match featured Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Roman Reigns, and Big Cass (now known as Big Bill).
However, The Game rushed down to the ring to hit Pedigrees on Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. This allowed Owens to pin Rollins and win his first and only World Championship in the WWE.
