Spoiler: Cody Rhodes injured ahead of WWE Bash in Berlin; title match seemingly up in the air
Cody Rhodes is set to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens tomorrow night at Bash in Berlin. However, Kevin Owens made a major announcement about his rival during tonight's edition of WWE SmackDown.
The Prizefighter and Cody Rhodes had a face-to-face on tonight's episode of the blue brand ahead of their title match tomorrow at the Premium Live Event. Owens claimed that The American Nightmare recently suffered a knee injury, and noted Rhodes didn't drop to a knee during his entrance tonight.
Rhodes responded by accusing Owens of trying to get out of the match at Bash in Berlin, and suggested the former Universal Champion didn't want to face him. Rhodes noted that he loved Owens, and wanted to remain friends with him following the match at the end of the segment on tonight's show. Owens threw the microphone to the canvas and whispered something to the champion before exiting the ring.
Kevin Owens has been assisting Cody Rhodes in his rivalry against The Bloodline in recent months. Rhodes defeated Solo Sikoa in the main event of SummerSlam to retain the title following Roman Reigns' return. Solo Sikoa warned both Rhodes and Owens that he would be coming after the Undisputed WWE Championship once again following Bash in Berlin tomorrow night.
