Steve Austin says 14-year-old girl is his biggest rival in new sport after WWE

Stone Cold Steve Austin is widely viewed as one of the greatest WWE Superstars of all time. In a recent interview, the wrestling legend spoke passionately about his love for off-road racing.

Austin last wrestled for WWE in 2022 when he defeated Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38 in his first match in 19 years. While fans continue to speculate about his possible return, the 59-year-old is currently focused on his racing career.

On the Bobby Bones YouTube channel, Austin amusingly revealed he found himself in a battle with a 14-year-old girl while racing:

"I'm competing against people my age, but there's also people that are half my age. One of my arch-rivals last year was a 14-year-old girl. She can drive her a** off. You know, when you're born out there and you get that DNA, man, them kids are fast. So, it's fun, it's competitive, it gives me something to do." [9:28 – 9:48]

Austin also recalled how a WWE Hall of Famer used to call him "Cold Stone" whenever they interacted.

Steve Austin won a racing award

In 2023, Steve Austin was honored to receive the Rookie of the Year award in the racing federation he competes in. The WWE Hall of Famer was also named Rookie of the Year in 1990 by Pro Wrestling Illustrated and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Given his age, Austin saw the funny side when he was the recipient of an award that is usually handed out to youngsters:

"I couldn't believe it took me this long to find the sport that I've found. At 58 last year I was the Rookie of the Year in the federation. I was the Rookie of the Year when I started my wrestling career in 1990, so I think I was the oldest f***ing rookie to ever win that award!" [9:08 – 9:26]

In the same interview, Austin admitted he still does not view himself on the same level as one of his former in-ring rivals.
