Stone Cold Steve Austin opens up about possible WWE return

WWE legend Stone Cold Steve Austin recently opened up about a potential return to the ring. The Hall of Famer last competed at WrestleMania 38 and defeated Kevin Owens in a No Holds Barred match.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Austin discussed his return to the ring in 2022. He noted that Hulk Hogan was correct in stating that his body wouldn't be ready for what he felt during the match. However, Austin didn't close the door on the idea of returning.

The Rattlesnake stated that WrestleMania XL is just down the road from him in Las Vegas and didn't rule out the idea of making an appearance at The Show of Shows next year.

"But there’s so much going on. They got such a stacked roster with so many great superstars these days that they’re not going to have any problem filling two nights of entertainment. But if I got out there and be a part of it on one hand and do something positive that works for the company and works for what they want to do, and it satisfied a crowd, I’d be happy to," he said.

Hulk Hogan compares rising WWE star to Stone Cold Steve Austin

WWE legend Hulk Hogan recently compared Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker to Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock.

Bron Breakker defeated Sami Zayn earlier this month at WWE SummerSlam to capture the title. He defeated the veteran once again in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match on the August 12 edition of WWE RAW to retain the title. There is currently a tournament underway on the red brand to determine Breakker's next challenger.

In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Bill Apter, The Hulkster claimed Breakker has the chance to be the next Stone Cold or The Rock. He added that the 26-year-old is wise beyond his years as well.

"He's something else. He's wise beyond his years. Number one, to be that intense and to know the red light's on and to be able to stay in that zone. It's very impressive, so if they do the right thing with him, that could be your next Stone Cold, The Rock, or Hulk Hogan. He could be the guy." [1:37 – 2:01]
