Street Profits defeat former champions before SmackDown goes on the air to tie the score 2-2
The Street Profits kicked off the festivities in Berlin in terms of the in-ring action, and they wanted the smoke. In their fourth official clash against former tag team champions, they won the bout to tie the score 2-2.
The Street Profits were recently unsuccessful in winning the WWE Tag Team Titles on SmackDown. In the tour of Europe with the rest of the blue brand roster (and a few RAW stars), they once again vied for the titles held by The Bloodline's Tama Tonga and now Tanga Loa (previously Jacob Fatu). Also in the mix was A-Town Down Under, who were SmackDown Tag Team Champions before the titles became the "WWE Tag Team Championship."
A-Town Down Under, the duo of Grayson Waller and Austin Theory, have previously defeated The Street Profits twice—one on SmackDown in France and the other in a Live Event, also in France. Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford got their win back earlier in August to become number one contenders, and before SmackDown went on the air in Berlin, they tied the score at 2-2.
Dawkins & Ford have been gaining momentum in the last few months, although it's been hard for them to rise as Tag Team Champions again due to immense competition on the roster.
Since A-Town Down Under has become champions, DiY won the titles from them before quickly dropping them to The Bloodline courtesy of Jacob Fatu.
The crowd in Berlin seemed to be into The Profits.
