Superstar announces departure from WWE ahead of RAW

A WWE Superstar took to social media ahead of tonight's Monday Night RAW to announce that he was no longer a part of the company. The star in question is Bobby Steveson, who goes by the in-ring name of Damon Kemp.

Steveson signed a contract with the Stamford-based promotion in August 2021, shortly before his younger brother Gable Steveson also inked a deal with the company. While Gable arrived in WWE with a lot of hype around him, his elder brother ended up making far more appearances than him. Bobby worked across 205 Live, NXT, and NXT UK during his tenure with the company.

The 25-year-old recently took to X (Twitter) to announce that he was no longer under contract with the Sports Entertainment juggernaut. Bobby Steveson also posted his work email, noting that he wanted to "wrestle anywhere and everywhere."

"As of today, I am no longer contracted with WWE. I want to wrestle anywhere and everywhere. For bookings/appearances, contact damonkempmgmt@gmail.com," Steveson posted.

Bobby Steveson's brother, Gable Steveson, was also released from WWE a few months back

The Steveson brothers joined the Stamford-based promotion in 2021 shortly after Gable Steveson won a gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics. While fans had high hopes for both stars, Gable, in particular, failed to live up to the expectations inside the squared circle.

The Olympic gold medalist wrestled in just 17 matches, with the majority of them being non-televised. He also failed to get over with fans in the limited appearances he made on TV programming. The 24-year-old was released by the company in May 2024.

Gable's elder brother, Bobby, however, wrestled more and was a part of two prominent factions in NXT. The star joined Roderick Strong in Diamond Mine in September 2022 but shortly turned on the group.

Bobby joined the No Quarter Catch Crew in August 2023. The 25-year-old was recently replaced by Tavion Heights after he lost to the latter on the June 25, 2024, episode of NXT. This also turned out to be his last match for WWE.

We, at Sportskeeda Wrestling, wish Bobby Steveson good luck in his future endeavors and hope to see him return to action soon.
