Surprising swerve could lead WWE to crown a new world champion at Bad Blood, says Mark Henry
Wrestling legend Mark Henry recently addressed the future of the WWE Women's Championship. He suggested a scenario where another superstar could leave Bad Blood with the title under surprising circumstances.
Nia Jax has held the Women's Championship since SummerSlam when she defeated Bayley. She will now have to defend the title at Bad Blood against the winner of the bout between The Role Model and Naomi scheduled for SmackDown. On the Busted Open podcast, Henry discussed potential scenarios for the title match at the PLE, suggesting Tiffany Stratton could be the one to leave the premium live event with the title.
The World's Strongest Man claimed Bayley could be the one to challenge Jax at Bad Blood. And then as The Role Model seems close to winning the title, Jax's associate, Stratton, interferes. However, the interference backfires, resulting in Bayley defeating The Irresistible Force after Tiffy mistakenly hits her with the MITB briefcase. The Hall of Famer proposed that the 25-year-old Ms. Money in the Bank could then cash in her contract on Bayley.
"The other idea would be to have Bayley go out there and Bayley look like she's gonna win and Tiffany Stratton coming out and trying to stop Bayley but gets in the way and hits Nia with the briefcase and allowing Bayley to win and beat Nia and then her cashing the briefcase in. And because Nia's wobbly then she takes the title and Tiffany Stratton becomes world champion," he suggested. [28:41 - 29:22]
Mark Henry urged WWE to put the Women's Championship on Tiffany Stratton
On the same episode of the Busted Open podcast, WWE Hall of Famer, Mark Henry urged the Stamford-based company to put the Women's Championship on Tiffany Stratton, claiming it has to happen soon.
The wrestling legend warned the creative department, led by WWE CCO Triple H, that people would lose interest if they waited too long.
"Tiffy Time should happen soon. And it don't have to happen at a pay-per-view. Like, she is well-off enough connected and has a balance with the wrestling universe enough to have a say-so. And if you wait too long, people gonna lose interest. And you can only have the briefcase for so long anyway. So, you gonna have to use it or lose it. So, might as well get to work," he said.
WWE Women's Champion, Nia Jax recently claimed Tiffany Stratton would never betray her. It would be interesting to see if that indeed turns out to be true.
