Teddy Long reveals what Sid Vicious said to the police after getting stopped (Exclusive)
Former WCW and WWE star Sid Vicious passed away at age 63 on August 26. Teddy Long paid tribute to his ex-travel partner by sharing an amusing story about the time they got pulled over by a police officer.
Sid, real name Sid Eudy, was also known to wrestling fans as Sid Justice and Sycho Sid. The imposing six-foot-nine star was managed by Long while teaming with Danny Spivey in WCW in 1989.
Long appeared on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine with legendary reporter Bill Apter and host Mac Davis. The WWE Hall of Famer recalled how he thought Sid would be friendly to the police after being caught speeding:
"Me and him was riding together, so we get pulled over by the cops," Long said. "But we're not riding dirty. We're clean. We got pulled over and I'm thinking Sid is speeding, okay? So I'm thinking Sid is gonna try to be the babyface now, maybe say, 'Hey, look, I'm Sid Vicious blah blah blah,' and get this thing taken care of." [1:32 – 1:58]
Instead of being nice to the officer, Long said Sid reacted angrily before joking about why he was speeding:
"As soon as the police come, he lashes right in on him, 'What did you stop us for? What do you want?' The guy said, 'Sir, you're speeding.' 'Well, the only reason why we're speeding is because the car is going downhill!' That's what he said!" [1:58 – 2:23]

Teddy Long on Sid Vicious' real-life personality
On-screen, Sid Vicious was one of the most intimidating wrestlers of his generation. Behind the scenes, however, Teddy Long saw a different side to the two-time WrestleMania main-eventer.
Reflecting on their days working together in WCW, Long said Sid was always positive backstage:
"Sid was like a big kid, you know what I mean? He got in the wrestling business, he made it, and he was just happy-go-lucky every day." [1:21 – 1:29]
Sid won several titles during his wrestling career, including the WCW World Heavyweight Championship twice and the WWE Championship twice.
