Teddy Long wants WWE legend's return match to be against Jade Cargill (Exclusive)

Jade Cargill's WWE journey is gradually unfolding as she has been given time to get used to her new surroundings. The former AEW star is expected to start having high-profile singles matches eventually, and Teddy Long hopes one of them will happen against a returning Trish Stratus.

The seven-time former Women's Champion recently teased returning to finish her story and potentially wrestle again. Stratus has stayed away from the ring since wrapping up her feud with Becky Lynch at Payback 2023, where Zoey Stark turned on Trish after the match.

During the latest episode of The Wrestling Time Machine, Teddy Long was asked about the possible opponents for Trish Stratus in the event of her in-ring return. While he admitted it was tough to pick from a WWE roster filled with talented names, Teddy Long chose Jade Cargill.

"Oh god, man! That's really not an easy question. I just don't know right now. I'd maybe like to see her and Jade Cargill," he said. [11:51 - 12:10]

While Trish Stratus has faced Charlotte Flair before at SummerSlam 2019, Bill Apter noted that he would love to see The Queen face the WWE Hall of Famer again.

Trish Stratus vs Rhea Ripley? Bill Apter doesn't think WWE's Mami needs the push anymore

The matchup would have been a launching pad for Rhea Ripley had it happened years ago. However, in 2024, Bill Apter believed Rhea Ripley had gone beyond that point where she required an apparent over-the-top push.

Rhea Ripley is one of the most popular names in WWE, and while a first-time-ever match against Trish Stratus sounded promising, Apter explained that the Australian star didn't need the rub.

Apter recalled his recent interview with the legendary Hulk Hogan, in which the former world champion put Ripley over massively calling her "the.bomb.com," Apter agreed with Hogan and reiterated that The Eradicator was indeed a bomb and that she was super over with fans.

"Rhea doesn't need to be pushed over the top. She is over. Hulk Hogan, in a recent interview with me, called her 'the bomb.com.' She is the bomb. She is way over that needing someone else to get her over. She is super over," said Apter. [From 12:30 onwards]

A huge Trish Stratus match would have to wait if the legend decided to return anytime soon, as Rhea Ripley is currently out for vengeance against Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio following the betrayal at SummerSlam.
