Tegan Nox's first bookings since WWE release revealed
WWE recently made one more round of Friday night releases as the end of the year approaches. Tegan Nox was among the superstars released not long after rumors of new plans for the Welsh grappler. Nox has already received her first post-WWE bookings, thanks to a fan-favorite former champion.
The Girl with the Shiniest Wizard was released from World Wrestling Entertainment on November 1, along with Baron Corbin and Indi Hartwell. This marked the second release of Nox's seven-year run, which was marred by injuries and departures. The 29-year-old was drafted to SmackDown this year but was still rarely used, and there had been talk of Nox returning to NXT for a brief run at one recent point. She previously went viral for expressing frustration on social media.
ATTACK! Pro Wrestling is one of the indie promotions Nox frequented before WWE. Originally launched in the UK by Pete Dunne and Jim Lee in 2011, the promotion returned from a three-year hiatus in January 2023 and is now owned by Mark Andrews. The former NXT UK Tag Team Champion also wrestles for APW, and in 2016, he and Nox held the ATTACK! Tag Team Trophy Championship.
Nox has just been announced for APW's Under The Mistletour, now billed as The Shiniest Mistletour. The two-night event is scheduled for Saturday, December 14, and Sunday, December 15, at Cathays Community Centre in Cardiff, Wales. Dunne was among the wrestlers who plugged the dates on social media.
"[sparkles emoji] THE SHINIEST MISTLETOUR [sparkles emoji] NIXON NEWELL RETURNS TO ATTACK! PRO WRESTLING! Our final shows of the year just got shinier when we return to Cardiff on December 14th & 15th! Tickets for both nights on sale now [ticket emoji]," APW wrote with the graphic below.
APW has not announced any match or segment for Nox's appearances, but Andrews will also be in action that night. Nox is back to using "Nixon Newell" on the indies.
Update on status of released WWE Superstars
World Wrestling Entertainment released a few superstars this past Friday while much of the company was in Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel. Tegan Nox, Baron Corbin, and Indi Hartwell were let go shortly before SmackDown hit the air that night.
Corbin has entered free agency as he was let go due to his contract expiring, while officials chose not to renew. Hartwell and Nox were released, but they will be free to work with any promotion they want when their 90-day non-compete clauses expire on Thursday, January 30, 2025.
Indi's release was described as the biggest surprise within WWE, as there was a feeling that she seemed to be coming into her own. It's been a while since WWE had any extended plans for Nox, who confirmed her non-compete on X.
