"That's a big deal" - WWE Hall of Famer applauds special claim from CM Punk on WWE RAW
CM Punk is set to step inside the unforgiving Hell in a Cell at WWE Bad Blood next month. This would probably mark the end of his feud with Drew McIntyre, which he addressed during his recent appearance on WWE RAW.
The Best in the World delivered an amazing promo on this week's edition of RAW when he marked his return following Drew Mcintyre's lethal attack the previous week and the Hell in a Cell match announcement. Punk promised to make The Scottish Warrior bleed, and discussed how violent the match could be.
During his promo, Punk also addressed how his wife, AJ Lee, and his sisters were refusing him to get into the Cell with McIntyre. However, he wanted to end this rivalry once and for all. WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray, in a recent episode of the Busted Open Podcast, addressed the claim and applauded Punk for using it in his promo.
"Last night, we heard CM Punk tell us that his sisters and his wife, the most important females in Punk's life, asked him to not to go through with this match, and he's still doing it. That holds a lot of water with me. To me, that's a big deal, especially the wife. AJ's name was on that bracelet. AJ is asking Punk, 'Do not get into this violent match with this really big man because you might get hurt badly, to the point where you have zero matches left in you or zero cell matches left in you,'" said Ray. Further, the Hall of Famer also added that CM Punk's WWE RAW promo was a quality one.
"Punk took that under advise, took his sisters' words under advise. 'Sorry, girls, I'm still going through with this.' That's huge. The babyface is basically telling the fans that I'm not heeding the warning of my loved ones because I'm going out there and fighting this guy for you. He didn't really say it's for the fans, but at the end of the day, it's for the fans. He's doing it for himself; he's doing it for the fans. Last night was a quality promo by Punk," he added. CM Punk set to be a part of major NXT Championship match
CM Punk made an appearance on this week's WWE NXT as well, where he was supposed to make a massive announcement. However, before he could, the NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez interrupted him to say that she wished she was a Drew McIntyre fan.
However, later on, during the NXT Championship match contract signing between Ethan Page and Trick Williams, Punk came out to announce that he would be the special guest referee to the match, building anticipation for the match.
October 1 would mark NXT's debut on the CW Network, where Ethan Page and Trick Williams will collide with the NXT Title on the line. Punk will be the special guest referee, in front of his loved ones in Chicago.
