"That's career suicide" - WWE veteran believes Vince McMahon derailed Becky Lynch's iconic career for one major reason
Becky Lynch has not appeared on WWE TV since her steel cage match loss against Liv Morgan in May. The Man enjoyed the success of her New York Times best-selling memoir, 'Becky Lynch: The Man: Not Your Average Average Girl,' and has not made many public appearances since then.
Back after giving birth to her daughter Roux, Lynch appeared on The Broken Skull Sessions, where she stated that wrestling was not the most important thing in her life anymore. Instead, her family was her number one priority moving forward.
Recalling the interview, Vince Russo, in a recent episode of Backstage Pass, stated that he was 'never a fan of Becky Lynch.' However, he respected her for the comments she made.
"I was never a huge Becky Lynch fan. However, if you remember, she just had a child, and one of the first things she did was go on the Austin show. Anybody can go back and look at the interview… Here’s the first thing she said, ‘Wrestling is not the most important thing in my life anymore.’ And when she said that, and this was when Vince was in charge, I’m like - ‘As much as I respect you saying that," said Vince Russo.
In addition, given Vince McMahon was in charge during the time of this interview, Russo stated that Lynch could have caused 'career suicide' with her comments.
"That’s career suicide. And I’m telling you, the way she got booked from that moment on, you could tell that wrestling was clearly not the most important thing to her anymore. And Vince wasn’t gonna have it. And that’s why she went home."
Will Becky Lynch return to WWE?
While Becky Lynch's return to WWE is still uncertain, an ongoing storyline could mark the perfect return for her. Rhea Ripley has been engaged in a war against Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, and Dominik Mysterio lately. The Eradicator has been taken down with the numbers advantage quite a few times now.
Lynch's last match in WWE was against Liv Morgan when Dominik Mysterio's presence ended up costing the Man her title shot. To avenge her loss, Lynch returning to team up with Ripley makes perfect sense. Fans will have to wait and see if Lynch plans to make her return to the squared circle or not.
