"The biggest mishaps in pro wrestling" - Ex-WWE star wanted The Bloodline to face popular faction
The Bloodline's cohesion on WWE SmackDown was unmatched before cracks formed within the group. Recently, The Hurt Business' Shelton Benjamin addressed the company's biggest missed opportunity between the two factions.
It's widespread for two factions on the same brand to go head-to-head in an all-out war. A feud between two groups has transpired across brands, and the previous management had the opportunity for Roman Reigns' Bloodline to go up against The Hurt Business.
However, it never happened, and many wondered why the management didn't book it. In an interview with Metro UK, Shelton Benjamin spoke about the impact of The Business on the company. During this, he stated that it was unfortunate that WWE never went ahead with a Bloodline versus The Hurt Business feud.
"I love being a part of helping people succeed. But in the case of the Hurt Business, I felt like there was so much more for every individual in that to really elevate themselves within the company (...) And I think the fact that there was no Hurt Business versus Bloodline war is one of the biggest mishaps in pro wrestling," Benjamin said. [H/T - Metro UK]
Batista reacted to WWE scrapping plans for Hurt Business reunion
The Hurt Business was easily MVP's biggest creation in WWE upon his return to the company. The faction elevated the likes of Bobby Lashley and Cedric Alexander and revived Shelton Benjamin's credibility as a performer in the Stamford-based promotion.
However, it all ended in a matter of minutes heading into WrestleMania 37 when The All Mighty and MVP attacked the remaining members. A few years later, the new regime teased a revival of the group on Monday Night RAW with a possible addition of Omos.
Sadly, those plans were also scrapped, and many wondered the reason behind them, including Dave Batista. Earlier this year, The Animal commented on MVP's social media post and stated that the company left a lot of money on the table by not reviving The Hurt Business.
MVP, Omos, and Bobby Lashley are currently on a hiatus from the weekly product. Under the new WWE regime, Cedric Alexander formed a new tag team with Ashante "Thee" Adonis on Friday Night SmackDown, and Lashley created The Pride with Street Profits.
