The Bloodline is a "disease," WWE star says; teases heel turn following recent events
In the last four years, Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa have led The Bloodline in WWE, with several Samoan and Tongan wrestlers part of the faction at different stages. Montez Ford is tired of fighting them off and appears to be on the edge.
Most recently, the Street Profits have worked with Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa on SmackDown, as they were contending for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
In an interview with the Daily Star, Montez Ford pointed to three people who have always stood up to The Bloodline, irrespective of whatever version. They are himself, Angelo Dawkins, and Kevin Owens. He noted how The Prizefighter snapped, and teased following a similar path:
"I feel like I’m the only one, consecutively, that has been dealing with The Bloodline and every variation of The Bloodline, for the last four years. I’ve been the one doing it. I’ve been the one trying to fight off this disease. Me, Dawks, and occasionally Kevin Owens. You seen what happened to Kevin Owens recently, he’s a little frustrated. I feel like I’m on the verge of becoming the same way. How many times do I have to takedown another variant of The Bloodline?" Montez Ford asked. [From 00:21 to 0:46]
The Street Profits and #DIY challenged the Tongans on the October 4 episode of SmackDown in a noteworthy Triple Threat Ladder Match. In the end, though, the champions prevailed.
Motor City Machine Guns defeat The Bloodline to win WWE Tag Team Championship
This past Friday, former TNA and NJPW stars, the Motor City Machine Guns, worked their second and third match back-to-back since debuting in WWE on October 18. The latter was an impromptu title match immediately after they defeated #DIY to become the number one contenders.
The Bloodline interrupted the celebration and Solo Sikoa introduced his faction to the Motor City Machine Guns. On behalf of Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa, Sikoa offered the number one contenders a title match right then and there.
While this may have been Solo Sikoa's way of sending a message to the SmackDown roster, especially to the newbies, Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso, the plan backfired. Reigns and Uso interrupted and a brawl ensued. Eventually, Sikoa and Jacob Fatu fled the scene, leaving the Tongans to defend their belts sans their stablemates.
In the closing moments, Jey Uso showed up and cost Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa the WWE Tag Team Championship, returning the favor after last Monday's RAW. Uso's first singles title reign ended thanks to Sikoa, Fatu, and the Tongans.
It remains to be seen if the Street Profits go after the WWE Tag Team Championship again now that a new team is in possession of the belts.
