"The doctor don't have a clue" - WWE legend on Vince McMahon's comments about Chris Benoit from his documentary (Exclusive)

WWE legend Teddy Long reacted to Vince McMahon's comments about Chris Benoit from his Netflix documentary Mr. McMahon. In the documentary, the 79-year-old revealed the doctor's assessment of Benoit's situation.

During his time in WWE, Benoit won the World Heavyweight Championship. He was also a multi-time United States Champion and Intercontinental Champion. He also won the WWE Tag Team Championship with Kurt Angle and the World Tag Team Championship with Chris Jericho and Edge, now known as Adam Copeland. In 2007, Benoit murdered his wife, Nancy, and son, Daniel, before taking his own life.

While speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Time Machine podcast, Teddy Long stated that the doctor who assessed Chris Benoit's situation was clueless.

"Well, the doctor don't have a clue. I mean, he knows his job and he knows what he's supposed to do but to sit and say that, that tells me you don't know too very much. You and I, people that are in the business, we kind of know what went down, we kind of know what happened. So, what he's talking about don't even make any sense," Teddy Long said. [8:22 - 8:44]

Vince McMahon claimed Chris Benoit's actions had nothing to do with steroid abuse

While speaking in his Netflix documentary Mr. McMahon, Vince McMahon stated there was no correlation between Chris Benoit taking steroids and the double-murder and suicide case.

Mr. McMahon also claimed that Benoit had gone "nuts".

"There’s no correlation between taking steroids and what happened to Chris Benoit, human beings are flawed. Chris went nuts, it happens in every form of life, that’s the only thing I can take away from it," Vince McMahon said.

As a professional wrestler, Chris Benoit found a huge amount of success in WWE, WCW, and even in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). He was also a former ECW World Tag Team Champion with Dean Malenko.
