"The forefront" - Booker T labels 26-year-old WWE star and current champion as "the future of the business"

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T recently claimed that a 26-year-old star and a current champion are the future of the Triple H-led promotion. The names in question are Bron Breakker and World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.

This year's SummerSlam showcased some of the best talents in action and several title changes. Gunther and Bron Breakker came out of the show as champions. While The Ring General won the World Heavyweight Title, the 26-year-old star dethroned Sami Zayn to become the new Intercontinental Champion.

During a recent edition of the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T said Gunther and Bron Breakker were the future of WWE. Booker also mentioned that he loved that the pro wrestling business was thriving and believed The Ring General and Breakker would eventually be at the forefront of the Triple H-led promotion.

"I feel like both of those guys, they’re the future of the business, they’re the guys that’s [sic] going to take us into this next wave and really, really put WWE in that position to where so many young people are going to want to be a part of this millennial thing going on right now. So many guys and girls that’s [sic] trying to get into this business right now (…) I’m loving where the business is going right now, Bron and Gunther are at the forefront." [H/T: Inside The Ropes]

Gunther is set for his next big challenge after becoming the WWE World Heavyweight Champion

After dethroning Damian Priest as the World Heavyweight Champion at WWE SummerSlam, Gunther is now set to defend his title against Randy Orton.

The Viper made a surprise appearance on this week's edition of Monday Night RAW to confront The Ring General. The Apex Predator highlighted how the Imperium leader did not pin him clean at the 2024 King and Queen of the Ring Premium Live Event.

Randy Orton also mentioned that Triple H was aware of this, and he already told the world that the duo would compete in a possible rematch. Gunther accepted Orton's challenge, and the duo will lock horns at Bash in Berlin.

Meanwhile, Bron Breakker seems to have set his eyes on John Cena's retirement tour in 2025. Breakker recently issued a challenge to The Cenation Leader, highlighting that the latter didn't have the WWE Intercontinental Championship in his trophy case.

It will be interesting to see what the Stamford-based promotion has planned for Gunther and Bron Breakker's future.
