The kiss of death? WWE Hall of Famer has a big warning for Dominik Mysterio (Exclusive)
More than the turn, Dominik Mysterio's kiss to Liv Morgan unsurprisingly became the bigger story coming out of SummerSlam 2024. The moment might have been significant for Dominik, but Teddy Long warned the young star about a potentially tricky future.
SummerSlam opened with Rhea Ripley challenging Liv Morgan for the Women's World Title, and The Nightmare had Dominik by her side. By the end of the match, 'Dirty' Dom betrayed Ripley and walked out of the show with Morgan, confirming he was now romantically attracted to the champion.
While speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine, Teddy Long revealed that beyond the kiss, he wanted to see more developments in the relationship between Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio.
Bill Apter chimed in and noted that Dominik's decision could backfire on him:
"So, what you're referring to is that this could be maybe the kiss of death." [4:24 - 4:30]

Teddy Long agreed and said Dominik's kiss could be the worst thing that has happened to him in WWE, as it could lead to a domino effect he isn't prepared for.
The WWE Hall of Famer explained:
"That's exactly right. That's what I said. Now, I want to see how they go about this. You know what I mean? It could be the worst thing Dominik has ever done; we don't know yet." [4:31 - 4:45]

Everyone who kept track of the storyline would have predicted a swerve at SummerSlam. That's exactly what happened, as Dominik Mysterio's actions resulted in Liv Morgan retaining her title against Rhea Ripley.
Bill Apter recalled that he wasn't surprised to see Dominik kiss Morgan, as WWE had hinted on multiple occasions that The Judgment Day member might not stay loyal to Mami.
Apter felt even fans were ready for the SummerSlam twist, as he noted below:
"My initial thoughts were I knew something like that was going to happen. I think a lot of the fans knew it was going to happen, and they really wanted it to happen." [2:18 - 2:32]
The angle is moving along quickly on TV as WWE recently announced a huge match for the upcoming Bash in Berlin Premium Live Event. Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio will battle against The Terror Twins, and rest assured; it won't be a straightforward mixed tag team affair.
