The man who faked retirement to face John Cena in a title match reacts to the GOAT's retirement announcement at Money in the Bank
A former World Heavyweight Champion recently took to social media to react to WWE Superstar John Cena's heartbreaking retirement announcement at Money in the Bank. The name in question is Mark Henry.
At this year's Money in the Bank, Cena made a surprise appearance to announce that he would be hanging up his boots next year. He revealed that he would go on a final run from January to December 2025, and WrestleMania 41 would be his final WrestleMania outing.
Busted Open Radio's host David LaGreca recently tweeted that he was hoping to see Mark Henry show up during John Cena's retirement announcement. LaGreca referred to Henry's fake retirement in 2013 when he made everyone believe he would no longer compete, but then attacked Cena to challenge the latter for the WWE Championship.
This post caught Mark Henry's attention, and he wrote that he wished he had been at Money in the Bank when his former rival made the declaration.
"I would have loved to do it," he wrote.

John Cena talked about possibly facing The Rock for a third time in his final run in WWE
During the Money in the Bank post-show press conference, John Cena was asked about a possible match against The Rock in his final run. The Cenation Leader mentioned that he did not want to hand-pick his opponents and would love to take on every challenge that would come his way.
"There's always unfinished business in the WWE, which probably makes this announcement extremely surprising cause I'm trying to close up shop here. I don't and have never put much stock in expectations that are beyond my control and I've tried to lead in existence where I can control what I can. And I am in no position to hand-pick opponents. I've always had a wonderful time challenging myself, telling stories with whatever hand I was dealt. So I think that's part of the allure and part of the excitement of what we're about to embark on is stories we can't tell and hopefully who's gonna show up. We'll see."
It will be interesting to see who John Cena will face for his possible final WWE match at the end of 2025.
