The Miz's heel turn on RAW got no reactions, wrestling veteran breaks down the lack of fan interest (Exclusive)
Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently spoke about The Miz turning heel on RAW. The star turned his back on his tag team partner R-Truth on RAW this week.
Over the last few weeks, Karrion Kross has been trying to manipulate the A-Lister. Kross' words took effect this week when The Awesome Truth was in a tag team match against The Authors of Pain. After being tagged in by Truth, Miz decked his own partner and walked out of the arena.
This week on Legion of RAW, Russo detailed that nobody cared about The Miz turning heel. He felt the A-Lister had an erratic booking on the flagship show over the weeks leading to a loss in momentum. The veteran writer revealed that the stars needed to be on TV every week so that the fans could relate to their character changes.
"Here's the thing I always tell you. The number one tool in the toolbox to getting anybody over, they gotta consistently be on TV every single week. This stop and start, stop and start, so when the Miz turns, nobody cares. I wonder why." He continued, "You can't keep stopping and starting these people. There's no momentum, there's no continuity. So when you do something nobody cares. What don't you understand?" [From 13:05 onwards]
Truth was deeply hurt by the sudden change and was later trying to figure out what made his former friend turn on him.
It will be interesting to see what reasons The Miz shares for turning on his friend in the coming weeks.
