The New Day receives praise from WWE veteran after heartbreaking split from Big E
The New Day took a shocking turn on WWE RAW last week when Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods removed Big E from the faction. Recently, Tommy Dreamer spoke highly of the duo and praised both their segments from the red brand.
On the recent edition of WWE RAW, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods were drowned in boos as the audience didn't let them speak or justify their vile actions against Big E. In the end, the two looked unhappy with the reaction and left the ring without any further explanation.
Speaking on Busted Open After Dark, Tommy Dreamer praised the segment and the performances of Kingston and Woods. After Big E's unfortunate exit from the group, the veteran loved both segments from Monday Night RAW and was quite high on the two stars.
"I'll praise this segment even more. Last week, I never saw it coming. I never saw Kofi [Kingston]. I never saw Kofi believe in [Xavier] what Woods was saying and turning heel on Big E. It was great. I loved every second of it. The follow-up was even better," Dreamer said. (From 14:30 onwards)
The New Day's Kofi Kingston explains why they turned on Big E on WWE RAW
The New Day hasn't quite felt the same since KofiMania, as Big E started his solo journey in 2020 and eventually moved out of the faction. However, he never left the group even after he got injured in 2022.
In an interview on Battleground Podcast, the former WWE Champion explained why he and Xavier Woods removed E from the faction. The veteran said they didn't lie and only told the truth while addressing the situation.
"Here's the thing: everything we said out there was true. We didn't say anything that was a lie. People didn't want to hear it, you know. They were mad that we said it. But there was nothing that came out of our mouths that was a lie. Everything was 100% honest. That's all it's ever been," Kingston said.
E transitioned into an on-screen personality appearing mostly on panels before shows. Meanwhile, Kingston and Woods were at each other's throats before they turned heel.
