The New Day's Kofi Kingston addresses shocking heel turn on WWE RAW
Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day shocked the WWE Universe when they kicked Big E out of the faction. Today, the former World Champion addressed the sudden heel turn and explained his actions.
The New Day remained a strong unit, dominating singles, and the tag team divisions across brands for the better part of a decade. However, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods decided to go back to their roots, but without Big E, as they turned on him at their tenth-anniversary celebration on RAW this past week.
In an interview on Battleground Podcast, the multi-time former Tag Team Champion addressed the heel turn from Monday Night RAW. Kingston stated that he and Woods told the truth, and people didn't want to hear it. Moreover, the audience should be mad at E for not showing up earlier.
"Evil? I feel like it's a harsh word, man. Here's the thing: everything we said out there was true. We didn't say anything that was a lie. People didn't want to hear it, you know. They were mad that we said it. But there was nothing that came out of our mouths that was a lie. Everything was 100% honest. That's all it's ever been. We come out and we never lie to the people," Kingston said. [From 02:22 onwards]

Ex-WWE star thinks The New Day will reunite with Big E
It's hard to imagine The New Day in WWE without a member from the faction. However, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods brought the dreaded vision to life as they turned on Big E in shocking fashion while surprisingly remaining strong together as a duo.
Speaking on Rebooked Wrestling, Matthew Rehwoldt (fka Aiden English), believes the storyline could lead to the trio reuniting on WWE's main roster in the coming months. The former WWE Superstar does not think the 38-year-old is going to be a babyface who beats up his former partners, but that he'd use "the power of positivity" instead.
"I think a Big E 'Don't you dare be sour' line months down the line when they're in trouble. [...] I think that will turn their hearts from the stone and melt the ice around them. I think the power of positivity, his love is so strong, he's going to win them over with love. He's not going to be the babyface beating them up," he said.
It will be interesting to see what's next for Woods and Kingston on WWE RAW without Big E.
