The New Day's split could be a setup, predicts WWE veteran, to possibly "take out" the OG Bloodline

WWE fans witnessed a shocking breakup of The New Day during their 10th-anniversary celebration on last week's RAW. Meanwhile, Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley speculated that the split between Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, and Big E could be a swerve, potentially leading to a storyline against the OG Bloodline.

The December 2, 2024, edition of the Monday Night RAW featured Big E's return when Woods and Kingston discussed the group's future. When the former WWE World Champion offered to serve as The New Day's manager to mend fences, Kofi and Xavier shockingly turned heel, berated E, and kicked him out of the group.

During an appearance on the Women's Wrestling Talk, D-Von Dudley expressed pride in The New Day and acknowledged his disappointment with Big E's exclusion from the current storyline.

"Very proud of The New Day. Don’t like what’s going on right now leaving Big E out, but you know, these guys gotta find themselves, you know?"

The WWE Hall of Famer also predicted that The New Day's breakup could be a strategic move, potentially leading to a surprising reunion or a collaborative effort to combat the OG Bloodline.

"Who’s to know this ain’t all a setup for somebody. In terms of maybe these three are getting together to take out the [OG] Bloodline. We don’t know. Maybe they want to make it look like they’re breaking up and outsing out Big E and then all of the sudden, Xavier and Kofi are in the ring doing their thing and next thing you know, here comes Big E for the rescue. Nobody ever sees it coming," D-Von added. [H/T: Fightful]

D-Von Dudley further addresses The New Day's split in WWE

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods appeared on this week's episode of Monday Night RAW to explain their actions. However, the duo was met with a hostile reaction from the fans for turning their back on Big E.

During the same interaction on the Women's Wrestling Talk, D-Von Dudley cited the group's longevity and noted Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods' individual success in the singles competition. While acknowledging the possibility of a future reunion, the WWE Hall of Famer emphasized that The New Day's future remains uncertain.

"You’ve gotta understand, they’ve [The New Day] been going since 2015 and we’re now in 2024. It’s a long time for a trio like that to be together for as long as they have. They’ve both come out as superstars in singles competition. Could it be, possibly, but we won’t know until we see further on down the line what’s gonna happen," Dudley said. [H/T: Fightful]
