The new era of The Bloodline storyline will surpass all the previous work, believes Paul Heyman
The Bloodline has been an integral part of WWE television for a while, emerging as one of the major talking points of the show. However, Paul Heyman believes that the new era of the faction's storyline has the potential to surpass the work they did in the last few years.
The heel faction entered a new era after Roman Reigns lost the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL. Following his loss, The Tribal Chief went on a hiatus until earlier this month, which allowed Solo Sikoa to take over the leadership. The former Enforcer of The Bloodline recruited new members while brutally attacking old members Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman.
After declaring himself as the new Tribal Chief, Solo Sikoa went after The American Nightmare and the Undisputed WWE Championship. The 31-year-old was well on his way to capturing the title at the SummerSlam Premium Live Event before Roman Reigns made his much-awaited return and attacked his former stablemate, allowing Rhodes to retain the title. The former Shield member continued with his domination the following Friday on SmackDown as he laid waste to all the members of the Sikoa-led Bloodline.
During a recent conversation with Jeremy Hanna of Newsweek, Paul Heyman talked about Roman Reigns' return at SummerSlam. He further acknowledged that a new era of The Bloodline has begun. The WWE Hall of Famer pointed out that there are endless directions in which the storyline can go. Heyman is hopeful that whatever happens, it will put their past work to shame.
"We are now in a new era of the Bloodline story with Roman Reigns as not the champion. How does he correct that? How does he take back the name of The Tribal Chief? Who is the Head of the Table, Solo or Roman Reigns? Jimmy is not here. Jey is not here. The Wiseman is not back yet. How does Roman Reigns deal with those on his own? Is this a revenge yarn like an old spaghetti western where one man goes back, cleans up the village, and gets his revenge? Or it is a revenge yarn where he can't do it by himself, even if he has to? What are the twists and turns that happen then? We have a long road ahead of us," Heyman said.
The former SmackDown General Manager continued:
"All I can say is, for me, how I see the trajectory of it and the many ways we can go about it, it's going to be fascinating and will hopefully put our past four years of work to shame." [H/T: Fightful]
The Bloodline member is expected to return by the end of August
The latest addition to the Solo Sikoa-led Bloodline, Jacob Fatu, sustained an injury at SummerSlam. The 32-year-old has been the most dominant member of the faction since his debut on the June 21 edition of Friday Night SmackDown. Fatu has assaulted everyone standing in his way.
The Samoan Werewolf tried to do the same to Cody Rhodes at the premium live event as he hit The American Nightmare with a big splash through the announcer's desk.
Unfortunately, the WWE Tag Team Champion seemingly hurt himself while executing the move. Although the nature and the extent of the injury is unknown, Fatu will reportedly be back in action before the end of this month.
