The new World Heavyweight Championship would be a "sexy belt" on 40-year-old superstar, believes former WWE writer
Fans are almost equally divided for the upcoming blockbuster match between Seth Rollins and AJ Styles over the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
The Visionary is slightly more favored by many, as it is believed the Big Gold belt is made for him. Freddie Prinze Jr. and co-host Jeff Dye, on their podcast Wrestling with Freddie, both agree that the title will look great on popular SmackDown Superstar LA Knight.
While the former WWE writer and producer discussed how Seth Rollins will bring prestige immediately to the new title on the red brand, Jeff Dye claimed he is not a fan of putting the belt on neither Rollins nor Styles.
Instead, he would prefer LA Knight to become champion, as it would massively elevate the former Million Dollar Champion to main event status.
"That would be a sexy belt on LA Knight," Freddie Prinze Jr. exclaimed. [19:22-19:46]
The former WWE writer was even stoked at a potential feud between Seth "Freakin" Rollins and LA Knight.
Despite Knight's current stomping grounds being the blue brand, there is one way he could still capture the Big Gold belt in 2023. Read more here.
WWE Legend compares himself to LA Knight, believes the 40-year-old star is World Championship material
Bray Wyatt and LA Knight's storyline was mostly a solid outing by both superstars, with Knight managing to come out of the feud looking like an absolute star. Booker T believes that eventually, the former Million Dollar Champion will win WWE's top prize:
"You know what I like about LA Knight? He's not the chosen one. He's not the guy that they pick to be the face of the company. This guy is literally carving his own path. He's going to find a way on that card. He's going to find his way to the main event. This guy is a pure hustler. He's one of those guys that goes, 'Hey, you may not choose me to be the champion. But trust me, the people are going to choose me to be the champion."
The Hall of Famer then recalled winning the World Heavyweight Championship late in his WWE career as King Booker. He stated:
"Look at so many guys that have come along in this business that wasn't the guy, but found their way to their position. I say that because I was one of them. I wasn't chosen. I wasn't the guy. I know I wasn't the guy. When I became King Booker, I wasn't the guy. But I said, man, I got this role, let me see what I can make out of it, and next thing you know, they are putting a world championship on me."
LA Knight's surge in popularity came after a failed run as the leader of Maximum Male Models. Despite repeatedly being handed lousy TV content, the 40-year-old star has managed to come out of it each time still popular as ever. Fans have been clamoring for an LA Knight world title run for months.
