The Rock challenged to a match at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas

The Rock promised everyone that he would be back for WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas next year. It looks like a blockbuster challenge has already been laid down for The Final Boss and the person to do so is his former rival, CM Punk.

The Rock and CM Punk are no strangers to each other, as the two legends shared the ring twice back in 2013. In fact, The Brahma Bull made history by dethroning Punk at Royal Rumble and ending his 434-day reign as WWE Champion.

The People's Champ stood in The Straight Edge Superstar's way, snatching the WrestleMania 29 main event spot from him. CM Punk suffered two consecutive losses against Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson during their feud.

It's been almost 12 years since their last meeting, and The Second City Saint hasn't had the opportunity to settle the score with The Final Boss.

Earlier today, CM Punk appeared on Fanatics Fest NYC Live, where Big E asked him about running it back with Dwayne Johnson.

The Best in the World responded by saying he would not only love to face The Rock but also Stone Cold Steve Austin on Night One and Two of WrestleMania 41:

"Sign me up, yeah. They were just asking me about Steve Austin over there. You know, WrestleMania is two nights. Give me Steve one night, give me Rock night two. I don't care. Let's go. Let's do it," said Punk.

Wrestling fans have been clamoring for a dream match between Steve Austin and CM Punk since the time the two men confronted each other on RAW back in 2011.

With The Texas Rattlesnake open to appearing in Las Vegas next year, could this fantasy warfare turn real at The Grandest Stage of Them All? Only time will tell.

Who will The Rock face at WrestleMania 41?

Dwayne Johnson hasn't been seen on WWE TV since RAW after 'Mania 40, where he came out to tease a future match against Cody Rhodes.

The Final Boss pinned The American Nightmare during a tag match in the main event of WrestleMania 40 Night One.

A singles match between the two men has been brewing ever since, with rumors suggesting The Rock vs. Cody Rhodes being penciled in for The Showcase of the Immortals in 2025.

The People's Champ recently sustained an elbow injury while filming for his upcoming film, The Smashing Machine.

The WWE legend revealed that he suffered a ruptured bursa sac in his right elbow, but luckily, there was no extensive tissue damage. It will be interesting to see if he will return in time for his rumored match against Cody Rhodes at next year's WrestleMania.
