The Rock heaps massive praise on his childhood friend for his successful work in WWE
The Rock has lavished praise on his childhood friend Nick Khan for redefining WWE’s global presence and setting new benchmarks in the industry. The latter is the president of the company and a member of the TKO board.
They were both huge fans of the wrestling business growing up, as revealed by The Great One in an Instagram post in December 2021. The 10-time world champion joined the board in January this year, and he entered a feud with Cody Rhodes which saw him compete in his first match at WrestleMania XL since 2016. His position in the company was utilized in the storyline, which included The Bloodline and Seth Rollins.
The Rock spoke about Nick Khan's significant impact in WWE on ESPN and referred to him as a close and trusted consigliere.
"Nick Khan is a unique force in the sports and entertainment world. Excellent leader, strong business acumen and one of the visionary strategists in the game. He's redefined WWE's global presence and has set new benchmarks in the industry across all verticals. Nick's become a close and trusted consigliere to me as well as being an absolute killer --- the kind you want in the foxhole with you," Johnson said.
Peter Rosenberg believes that a power struggle storyline between The Rock and the Triple H could happen in WWE
The People's Champion and The Game having a power struggle is still something that can happen in WWE, as it was teased during the build for WrestleMania XL. Even though Triple H can't wrestle anymore, it's still possible for them to do an angle that won't require a match.
WWE analyst Peter Rosenberg thinks it's something that might happen, and he thinks it'd be very fun:
"As we get into this new SmackDown situation, don't forget that moment at the kickoff to WrestleMania when Triple H and The Rock had that moment backstage. I mean, we fantasized back then, could we get to this big overarching Triple H vs. The Rock story that hearkens all the way back to back in the day with The Rock being on the board, Triple H being in his position? I mean, don't forget. That is just sitting there to be the most fun thing ever," he said.
The Great One is expected to return to WWE and resume his feud with Cody Rhodes which would lead to a singles match at WrestleMania 41.
