The Rock to return on RAW's premiere on Netflix to confront huge WWE star in scenario suggested by analyst
Recent reports claimed The Rock would return to WWE TV on the January 6, 2025, edition of Monday Night RAW on Netflix. Meanwhile, WWE analyst Sam Roberts recently suggested a scenario for The Final Boss' comeback.
The 52-year-old initially returned to the Stamford-based company earlier this year to battle Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL before plans changed. Although The Final Boss later joined the OG Bloodline and fought alongside his cousin at The Show of Shows, Roberts believes The Great One will side with Solo Sikoa's Bloodline against the OTC upon his potential return.
Notably, the self-proclaimed Tribal Chief will lock horns with the Original Tribal Chief in Tribal Combat on RAW's season premiere on Netflix. Last October, The Rock made a surprise appearance at Bad Blood to make a cryptic, seemingly threatening gesture to Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and Jimmy Uso.
On his Notsam Wrestling podcast, the 41-year-old RAW Talk host suggested a scenario for The Final Boss' potential comeback on the red brand on January 6. He claimed The Rock could show up after Reigns' potential victory over The Street Champion. The two could then have a face-off inside the ring before the show went off the air.
"Here's where I would do it. Roman Reigns beats Solo Sikoa and has the Ula Fala back as The Tribal Chief, but then The Rock shows up. And The Rock stares him down, gets in the ring, not in the aisle, gets in the ring, stares him down, and maybe, that's how we go off the show. Although, do you want The Rock vs. Roman Reigns to be for the Ula Fala? But is Solo Sikoa gonna hand the Ula Fala over to The Rock?" he said.
Roberts proposed that The Rock could remind his cousin of his family link to High Chief Peter Maivia, assuming the title for himself. He could then battle Roman Reigns for the highest status in their family. He added:
"Or maybe this is when Roman Reigns is The Tribal Chief, and The Rock reminds him that his blood ancestry goes back to The High Chief Peter Maivia. So, Roman Reigns is The Tribal Chief, and maybe, The Rock has an even bigger Ula Fala, and the Rock is now The High Chief. And now you've got The Tribal Chief vs. The High Chief for whatever, I don't know; I don't think Grand Poobah is how they would call it, but whatever the title would be for the top chief." The potential face-off could set up Roman Reigns vs. The Rock at WWE WrestleMania 41, says Sam Roberts
While many expect The Rock to lock horns with Cody Rhodes at WWE WrestleMania 41 after The Final Boss promised The American Nightmare to go after the 39-year-old earlier this year, Sam Roberts said on his Notsam Wrestling podcast that the 52-year-old WWE legend should square off with Roman Reigns instead.
The WWE analyst pointed out that a potential face-off on RAW's season premiere on Netflix could set up a Tribal Chief vs. High Chief match at the upcoming Show of Shows in Las Vegas.
"Maybe Roman Reigns wins the Ula Fala back and is The Tribal Chief again, with something that's like white and gold. I would say an Ula Fala that's like white and gold and goes, 'Yeah, except I'm The High Chief. I come from Peter Maivia, okay?' And now, what we're settling is not about championships anymore. It's about Tribal Chief vs. High Chief. And that's how you get to a main event of WrestleMania without Cody Rhodes or Gunther being involved at all," he said. [51:29-52:10]
It will be interesting to see if The Rock indeed returns to WWE TV to confront the OTC on January 6.
