The Rock's former colleague details what made him the ultimate icon in WWE (Exclusive)

Former WWE head writer Vince Russo spoke about how The Rock always looked like a major star. The Great One made his mark on the company during the Attitude Era and eventually became one of the most prominent names in Hollywood.

Russo and Rocky worked together during the Attitude Era. Since then, The Final Boss has been immensely successful in his ventures outside the pro wrestling business. Earlier this year, he was appointed to the TKO Board of Directors, securing a lucrative deal in the process.

On Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Vince Russo said The Brahma Bull looked like a star. He recalled how Rocky wore $500 shirts to the ring and never repeated his outfits. The veteran writer felt that his former colleague was a great talker and backed it up with powerful performances in the ring.

"[The] Rock was as cool as [The] Rock could get. Everybody wanted to be The Rock. And what did that come down to? It came down to wardrobe (...) [The] Rock used to buy $500 shirts and wear them once. You never saw The Rock wearing the same thing. It came down to his appearance, it would come to he had a new catchphrase every single week, [and] he worked on his promos. He was the coolest guy on the block that he wanted to be. And he could back it up." [From 18:05 onwards]

The Rock last competed at WrestleMania XL in a tag team match, teaming up with Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. During his last appearance on RAW, The Final Boss confronted Rhodes and claimed that their story was just getting started.

It will be interesting to see when The People's Champion decides to show up again on WWE TV.
