The Street Profits potentially breaking up after 8 years; Montez Ford sends emotional message
The Street Profits may be breaking up, and Montez Ford has sent an emotional message. The team has been together for eight years.
The Street Profits have been one of WWE's biggest teams for a long time, working together since they first became a team back in 2016. They are loved by fans, but at the same time, despite their ability and popularity, they've not won too many tag team titles. In all this time, they have won one NXT Tag Team Championship and a RAW and SmackDown Tag Team title. With only three titles to their name, they've still been loved for what they bring to the tag division.
For a while now, there's been talk about how it was only a matter of time before Montez Ford broke away from Angelo Dawkins to become a singles star in the future. However, that moment has not really come.
Speaking to Daily Mail, Montez Ford addressed the subject and shockingly spoke about being at a crossroads. He sent an emotional message about the Street Profits potentially breaking up. The star said that he was looking at the signs and said that maybe it was time to adjust to a new era, a new mode, or maybe he needed to get rid of people, hinting at his tag team partner.
"I'm looking at the universe, I'm looking at the signs. Is it time to adjust to a new era, a new mode, a new mindset, or do I need to start getting rid of people?"
Montez Ford also said earlier that he considered adding people to his faction and getting rid of those near him, too. He mentioned Bobby Lashley and B-Fab and how Street Profits had less success with them. He said that he was looking at his biological clock and how he would not be able to do some things past a certain age. It appears that the star is ready for a singles push.
"I chilled with Dawks before that for a very long time and we weren't getting the success. And we added the All Mighty, we added B-Fab, had a little bit of success, but honestly, not the same success as before. Now I'm starting to think, do I need to make adjustments with the people I'm involved with? Do I need to involve more people, or do I need to get rid of people? And I'm looking at my biological time clock, there's some things that I want to do, but I also don't want to be past a certain age or athletic prime where I'm not able to do these things no more."
Montez Ford talked about how, despite the Street Profits trying, they were not successful
Montez Ford also said that he was at a crossroads and that he had always wanted to be the WWE Champion. He had his dream job and said that despite everything that had gone well, there had been no success for him.
"This is the crossroads that I'm at right now in life. Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted to be WWE Champion. Now I've got the dream job I wanted, been with this tag team, and it's been fantastic, but I've also made a lot of changes and adjustments to try to be successful within this tag team, and I'm now at the point where I've done everything to be successful, I've tried to do something for a long time, and there's still no success."
It remains to be seen whether Montez Ford breaks away from the Street Profits and what Angelo Dawkins thinks about it, given that they are best friends in real life.
