"They forgot they have more lines" - Jonathan Coachman calls out ex-champions for massive botch on WWE RAW
WWE veteran Jonathan Coachman slammed two former champions after an apparent botch on RAW. He wondered how they forgot they had more lines in a backstage segment.
The former champions in question are IYO SKY and Kairi Sane of Damage CTRL. The Genius of The Sky is a one-time WWE Women's Champion, a two-time Women's Tag Team Champion, a one-time NXT Women's Champion, and a one-time NXT Women's Tag Team Champion. Kairi, meanwhile, is a two-time Women's Tag Team Champion and a one-time NXT Women's Champion.
Kairi Sane and IYO SKY defeated The Unholy Union last night on RAW. Before their match, the duo was confronted by Women's Tag Team Champions Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair backstage. The segment seemingly witnessed an embarrassing botch from the Damage CTRL members.
On the Behind The Turnbuckle: The Last Word podcast, The Coach called out Damage CTRL for forgetting their lines on live television and attempting to walk away twice during the segment.
"Tommy, the pre-tape between Belair and Jade and Damage CTRL; they tried to walk away twice, and they forgot they have more lines. Did you notice that? What are we doing? How do you forget that you have two more lines? And why do you put Jade in front of Belair when she's clearly bigger than her?" Coachman said. [19:49-20:09]
Former WWE host points out another problem with the controversial segment
In the same episode of the Behind The Turnbuckle: The Last Word podcast, ex-WWE employee Tommy Carlucci agreed with his co-host, Jonathan Coachman, that the company made another botch by having Jade Cargill stand in front of Bianca Belair despite The Storm being physically bigger.
Meanwhile, Carlucci, who spent over 30 years in WWE, slammed Jade for having weak promo skills, claiming she was not believable.
"I was thinking the same exact thing. Like, she towers over Bianca. And it's like, 'Why would you do that? You gotta make them kinda even.' Jade doing that in front of her, and by the way, she's not believable at all, Coach. I'm sorry, man; it's just the way she talks and the way she says stuff, it's like, 'You don't freaking believe it!' Am I right or wrong?" he said. [20:12-20:43]
After defeating The Unholy Union on RAW, Damage CTRL will likely challenge Cargill and Belair for the Women's Tag Team Championship. It will be interesting to see if they can capture the title in the coming weeks.
