"This could backfire" - WWE star's heel turn would be a terrible idea, believes Dutch Mantell (Exclusive)
A WWE star has seemingly expressed frustrations with his booking on the main roster, leading to a buzz in the pro wrestling community. However, wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell thinks a heel turn is not the answer at this point.
The star in question, Montez Ford, has been a stellar performer whenever he is on-screen. Montez and Angelo Dawkins have also been steadily teasing a heel turn lately. However, Dutch Mantell believes that there is a risk involved with the booking.
While speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk podcast, the former WWE manager talked about how Montez is a well-liked star who would possibly not go over well as a heel with fans:
"To make Montez Ford a heel, I don't think they will buy him as a heel. They like him, they legitimately like him, and trying to turn him heel just for the sake of making a heel, this could backfire." [15:02 onwards]

Dutch Mantell also commented on Montez Ford's future in WWE
According to former WWE manager Dutch Mantell, the creative department is treading cautiously with Montez Ford's run in the Stamford-based promotion.
Adding to his previous comments on the same episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk podcast, the 74-year-old veteran explained his perspective. He believes that Montez is an exceptionally talented star:
"I think they are almost afraid to do anything at this point, because you know sometimes if you do the wrong thing, that's worse than doing nothing. So, I think they wanna leave him right where he is right now, which is you know, the time limit on that is drawing really, really close so... And I hope they do something, these guys are good. Montez Ford is really good." [15:48 onwards]
For now, fans will have to stay tuned to see how the Street Profits will be booked down the line by Triple H.
