"This was a total waste of time" - Wrestling veteran bashes Lyra Valkyria's match on WWE RAW (Exclusive)
Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently spoke about Lyra Valkyria competing on the latest episode of RAW. The star faced Kairi Sane in a singles encounter this week.
Lyra was still showing signs of wear and tear after her brutal encounter with Nia Jax at the Queen of the Ring finals. The star put up a great fight at the Premium Live Event in Saudi Arabia but could not withstand The Irresistible Force. However, she got back to winning ways this week as she defeated Damage CTRL member Kairi Sane.
On a recent episode of Legion of RAW, Vince Russo pointed out the flawed concept of WWE's 50-50 booking. He pointed out that Lyra was absolutely mauled by Jax, who earlier lost to Liv Morgan during her last match on the April 29 episode of RAW. After this week's win, Russo felt that Valkyria was back to where she started.
"I love when they do this. So listen to this logic. Lyra Valkyria who they just brought up get squashed by the Queen of the Ring, Nia Jax who lost to Liv Morgan a couple of weeks ago. But Lyra Valkyria is gonna come back this week and beat Kairi Sane so we're gonna be right back to even-stevens. That's what I mean, nobody gets over. This was a total waste of time." With this win, Lyra Valkyria has once again started her ascent to the top. With the Women's World Champion Liv Morgan now finishing up her storyline with Becky Lynch, there could be an opening for the 27-year-old star to get into the title picture.
It will be interesting to see what lies ahead for the Irish superstar in the weeks to come.
