TNA star teases next WWE appearance ahead of RAW
Business is booming in the wrestling world and WWE is at the top of it all. The company has been working well with Japanese promotions, as well as Tennessee-based Total Nonstop Action (TNA) in recent times.
Several TNA stars have appeared in NXT lately, one of them being the longest-reigning TNA Digital Media Champion, Joe Hendry. On the June 18 episode of NXT, Hendry made his in-ring debut for World Wrestling Entertainment when he competed in a 25-man battle royal. On July 9, he tagged alongside Trick Williams to take on NXT Champion Ethan Page and Shawn Spears.
Taking to X, Joe Hendry has teased his next WWE appearance. However, he has sparked intrigue by hinting that it can happen at any show, perhaps as soon as tonight's episode of RAW, which is scheduled to emanate from the Nutter Center in Fairborn, Ohio.
"Anywhere. Anytime. ANY SHOW. I repeat, ANY SHOW," Joe Hendry wrote.
It remains to be seen if WWE will utilize talents from TNA and/or other promotions in its flagship shows.
Joe Hendry on 16-time WWE World Champion John Cena's phone call when he was a young boy
In an interview with Denise Salcedo recently, TNA's Joe Hendry shared a heartwarming story about his childhood idol, John Cena.
Cena announced his retirement from in-ring competition recently. He informed the fans that 2025 will be his final year with the intention of working at least 30-40 dates. Regarding The Champ, Hendry revealed that Cena was the first pro wrestler he spoke to:
"When I was 15 years old, there was a wrestling show. I'd never been to a live wrestling show before. I wanted to go, I couldn't go. My friend went, he got the VIP package and my phone rings, answer the phone. It's my friend Kyle's phone but the person that answered said, 'Yo, it's your boy John Cena.' My friend asked John Cena, 'Look my friend couldn't make it but could you call him?' And John Cena talked to me for 5-10 minutes while there was a huge queue at this VIP thing because my friend told him that I couldn't make it. So John Cena was the first pro wrestler I ever talked to," Hendry said.
The Scottish wrestler also teased facing John Cena as part of the latter's 2025 WWE Retirement Tour.
