WWE News: Tommy Dreamer says WWE edited out his Brock Lesnar comments on ECW special
Former two-time ECW champion Tommy Dreamer appeared on a WWE Network special last month titled “The Authentic Untold Story of ECW.”
Dreamer joined former ECW head honcho Paul Heyman, Taz, and the Dudley Boyz in the special hosted by Raw commentator Corey Graves. The ECW icons all laughed, shared stories, and even got emotional at certain points during the show.
The special was built around the five men being the faces of the Mount Rushmore of ECW. Dreamer said that Heyman should be the standalone Mount Rushmore with everyone else behind him.

The current owner of independent wrestling promotion House of Hardcore admitted that Heyman screwed him over multiple times and even said that he was a “scumbag” at times, but he poured his heart out when talking about the opportunities his former boss gave to him and everyone else.
Having not been in the same room with Heyman, Taz, and the Dudley Boyz in over 11 years, emotions were bound to spill over.
Towards the end of the special, Heyman found a way to mention Brock Lesnar to put him over. Bubba Ray joked to Heyman saying, “we’re not ending this show on Brock Lesnar.”
All five men shared a laugh, but Dreamer says his comments on the Lesnar mention were edited. Here’s what he told the Under the Mat Radio Show:
“That was an edited version first of all. That was the first time we’ve all been together since ECW One Night Stand 2005.
I’ve said it before, Paul has screwed me over many times more than anybody ever has but we’ve had it out but Paul deserves all the credit in the world.
It was the best times in people’s lives and I’ve said it myself, I learned a lot about the person I am and why I am what I am. I experienced loss, a lot of people tell me what ECW meant to them, but ECW didn’t have to go away but it did, it was like a death to me.
One day you’re on top of the world and then next you’re unemployed.
Dreamer then spoke about how the ending of the show was supposed to be different:
The ending I can tell you was different, we ended up fighting (laughs) because Paul started bringing up Brock Lesnar and I said, ‘who cares about Brock Lesnar? I’ll fight him for real, I’ll fight him in UFC or WWE, who gives a s–t.’
Then Devon said, ‘yeah Paul, how you going to do that?’ Then Paul starting to keep trying to rap it up and go back to Brock when they said, ‘Uh guys you can wrap this up whenever you’d like.'”
